Two New Updates for LWM Rack
With these two updates, LWM Rack now has all of the major basic modules that a virtual Eurorack system needs to have in order to build interesting synthesizers. With the 1.02b update, LWM Rack has opened up to a wide variety of MIDI inputs so that MIDI controllers can be used to control complex modular synthesizers that you build. With the 1.02 update, LWM Rack now has a variety of LFOs and a low pass/band pass filter that is rather flexible.
There is still much more to come with LWM Rack. Now is a great time to get familiar with the system so that new updates will add to your arsenal and be rather easy to adapt to. Each update builds upon the system’s foundation and previous updates. The sooner one learns the system, the better. Future modules that are already in the works include a delay module and a looping sampler module.

This is one of many updates to come that adds to LWM Rack, the free, open source virtual Eurorack system for Pure Data. In this version, two new MIDI input modules have been added to the basic set of modules released in v1.00b. These modules allow you to take in more MIDI controller signals, like volume, pan, expression, sustain, and 8 user-defined controllers of your choice. The audio output module has been updated to record what you play when you choose to and several tools have been added for converting signals and inverting them. As more and more modules are added, one will realize that there is a wide-open potential for this system in which one can create his or her own virtual modular synthesizers that resemble how one builds synthesizers using Eurorack modules.

This update of the LWM Rack virtual Eurorack system for Pure Data includes 4 new modules. Three of these modules are LFO modules that can be used for AM, FM, and PWM. The fourth module is a voltage controlled filter module that performs both low pass and band pass filtering. With these modules added, LWM Rack has become a fairly well-rounded and inclusive modular synthesizer building system for PD.
